The first of my 2021 TBRs! I’m planning on 2021 being the Year of Rereads with rereading THREE series this year – Harry Potter, Vampire Academy and The Lunar Chronicles! But FIRST, it’s time to wrap up one of my other favorite series!
Since Bridgerton premiered on Netflix Christmas Day 2020 (I watched all eight episodes in one day), I had a goal last year of rereading all eight novels – and I only got through the first four before watching the show. So for January, my goal is to finish out the Bridgerton series! Watching the TV adaptation got me more motivated, and I’m halfway through book 5. I haven’t read the books all the way through since high school so I’m looking forward to it – especially now that I can think about future TV seasons!
All of these are historical romance novels taking place in London in the early 1800s focusing on the Bridgerton siblings, of which there are eight: Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory & Hyacinth. And yes, the alphabetical naming of them is brought up in the books! Book 1 focused on Daphne’s story, book 2, Anthony, book 3, Benedict and book 4, Colin. Not going to lie, it will be hard to top books 3 & 4 in my heart, but we’ll see how the next four pan out!
Since the goodreads summaries are long, click on the book titles below to check out each book’s individual synopsis!
Book 5 (Eloise) – To Sir Phillip, with Love
Book 6 (Francesca) – When He Was Wicked
Book 7 (Hyacinth) – It’s in His Kiss
Book 8 (Gregory) – On the Way to the Wedding
While four books is slightly on the high side for a month of reading for me, these books go so quickly once I get into them. Cheers to a new year of reading!
